Preparing For Your Stay At UBH Denton
We understand that entering a treatment program can be both challenging and courageous. Rest assured, our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way. Essentials to Bring
- Daily Clothing: We recommend bringing at least three days of clothing due to limited storage. A washer and dryer are available at no charge.
- Shoes: Opt for shoes without strings or metal components.
- Personal Hygiene Items: Include essentials like a toothbrush, toothpaste, shower shoes, deodorant and female sanitary items. Please avoid items with alcohol-based products or aerosols.
- Warm Pajamas: Ensure they are appropriate for the setting.
- Modest and Climate-Appropriate Clothing: Bring jackets or sweaters without strings or ties.
- Tobacco Products: For adults only, to be used during designated breaks as determined by unit rules.
- Home Medications: They will be securely stored in the pharmacy.
- Recommended Athletic Shoes: Consider those with Velcro for gym activities.
Items Not Allowed
- Electronic Devices: This includes cell phones, iPods, laptops, earphones, alarm clocks, radios or recording devices.
- Strings and Belts: Avoid shoe strings, drawstrings or belts.
- Hair Styling Devices: Leave out hair dryers, curling irons, straighteners, etc.
- Clothing with Inappropriate Artwork: Ensure clothing does not feature alcohol, drugs or violent phrases or pictures.
- Outside Food or Drink: Patients are not allowed to bring outside food or drink.
- Jewelry: Except for wedding bands.
- Sharp or Flammable Items: Items with sharp edges or points, glass or flammable liquids are not permitted.
- Drugs or Alcoholic Beverages: Prohibited for the safety of all patients.
- Weapons or Protection Devices: This includes knives, guns or any form of protection.
- Metal Spirals: Avoid pens, pencils or binders with metal spirals.
- Currency Over $20: Keep currency limited to smaller denominations.
- Mirrors, Nail Files or Clippers: These items are restricted.
- Needles, Hooks or Wire Hangers: For safety reasons, these items are not allowed.
- Stuffed Animals, Blankets and Pillows: Patients will be provided with these items.
- Makeup: Available upon request for adults only and not allowed for adolescents.
- Disposable Razors: These will be checked in for safety.
Please Note: Internet access will not be available for patients during their stay. Valuables are best left at home, as items stored in the facility lockup will not be accessible throughout the length of the stay. Patients are fully responsible for their personal items.
